Tanzania EcoLevy program: Bureau Veritas is the service provider mandated for the implementation of the shipment control  of new and used Telecommunication equipment and products with telecommunication function, exported to Tanzania.

All regulated products shall be accompanied with the EcoLevy Certificate for Customs clearance in Tanzania.

Importers will be required to pay an advance eco-levy on TCRA portal for imported Electronic and Communication equipment, submit required documents to Bureau Veritas, and upon satisfactory documentary review assessment, EcoLevy Certificate will be issued for shipment clearance.

Mpango wa Tanzania EcoLevy: Bureau Veritas ni watoa huduma waliopewa jukumu la kutekeleza udhibiti wa usafirishaji wa vifaa na bidhaa mpya na zilizotumika za Mawasiliano na huduma za mawasiliano, zinazosafirishwa kwenda Tanzania.

Bidhaa zote zilizodhibitiwa zitaambatanishwa na Cheti cha EcoLevy kwa kibali cha Forodha nchini Tanzania.

Wasafirishaji/waagizaji nje watahitajika kulipa ushuru wa awali kwenye tovuti ya TCRA kwa vifaa vya Kielektroniki na Mawasiliano vilivyoagizwa kutoka nje, kuwasilisha hati zinazohitajika kwa Bureau Veritas, na baada ya tathmini ya kuridhisha ya uhakiki wa hati, Cheti cha EcoLevy kitatolewa kwa idhini ya usafirishaji.

• Reject import of Electronic waste and support the formalization of informal actors (complying with the Basel Convention)
• Collect taxes (Eco Levy) to promote recycling for these products
• Reduce the impact of E-waste on humans and on the environment by the reduction of pollutants at the end of cycle of the product
• Create a means of implementing a sustainable target in line with Target 3.9: ‘Reduce illnesses and death from hazardous chemicals and pollution’ of the Sustainable Development Goal, number 3: ‘Good health and well-being’.

• Kuzuia uingizaji wa taka za Kielektroniki na kusaidia urasimishaji wa wahusika wasio rasmi (kulingana na Mkataba wa Basel).

• Kukusanya kodi (Eco Levy) ili kukuza urejeleaji wa bidhaa hizi.

• Kupunguza athari za taka za kielektroniki kwa binadamu na kwa mazingira kwa kupunguza uchafuzi wa mazingira, vifaa hivi vinapofikia mwisho wa matumizi.

• Kuunda njia ya kutekeleza mpango endelevu kulingana na Lengo la 3.9: ‘Kupunguza magonjwa na vifo vitokanavyo na kemikali hatarishi na uchafuzi wa mazingira’ la Lengo la Maendeleo Endelevu, namba 3: ‘Afya Bora na Ustawi’.
